Writing on Raising Misters has been the most amazing experience. It was a little project I wanted to try and I’ve loved every minute of it. The stories and comments you’ve shared have made it all the more wonderful.
A few months ago after witnessing the increasing and horrific acts of domestic violence in and around my community I organised The Hand Up Donation Drive. The generosity of people was overwhelming and together we were able to provide the women residing in the refuge of My Friends’ Place with clothing and food and helped furnish the second refuge which opened a couple of weeks ago.
I’ve recently been asked onto the Board as the new Donation Coordinator which I gratefully accepted. It’s a volunteer position and I’m thrilled to be a part of something that is truly helping these women. It’s a big role and I’m throwing myself into it and with this, my day job and raising my two misters, spare time is something I’ll be a little short of.
It’s with a big lump in my throat that I say farewell to you and to Raising Misters. I really want to give my new role with MFP my all so for now at least I’m saying goodbye.
I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your support. Thank you for reading my words and sharing your own. I’ll always be grateful.
Even though the thought of Christmas only being a matter of weeks away makes me panic a little, seeing the houses around my neighbourhood starting to put their light displays up gets me a little excited about the festive season.
Each year, we have a bit of a bit of a colour theme going for the tree. This year we’re going “naturals” with gold, white and either silver or bronzey/browney colours with wooden ornaments, and big ass leaves and pine cones the boys have been collecting. Sounds bloody weird I know, but it’ll look great once it’s all together.
Jack wants to decorate the pine cones and both boys have been asking to make other Christmas bits so I’ve been looking into things they can make that don’t take long and won’t coat my house in glitter (because I’m a jerk). Here’s 10 things we’ve found: Continue reading

I don’t know about you but I LOVE getting packages in the mail. I’ve tried a couple of subscription boxes (Bella Box and Redpawpaw) and was like a little kid at Christmas when my box of goodies arrived. Now the kids can get in on the action with a several companies offering exciting packages delivered just for them! Continue reading
Way back when, I used to think it was a little bit cute when the boys would mumble something in their sleep. I’d even hear the occasional giggle and wonder what on earth babies dream about.
Now that they’re a little older, it’s just creepy. And they’ve added sleep walking into the mix just for fun. Continue reading
There’s 5 weeks left of the school year.
While I’m busy searching under the couch cushions for the rest of the weeks of this year that seem to have disappeared, here’s some gift ideas for your mister’s teacher. Continue reading
