Kids parties can be hard work. Sure, they’re fun (for them) but they (the kids) don’t tend to spend every waking hour in the lead up to the big event baking and stuffing loot bags and finding decorations and writing invitations and organising everything to within an inch of it’s life.
Picking a theme can take time too. My eldest has never really been able to pick one but my littlest has wanted a car and truck themed party for ever. And he’s never even had a birthday party. Because I’m a jerk and organising parties can be way too hard basket.
If you’re stuck for a theme, try working with a colour. For example, black and white. You can either just stick with the colours and find a bucket load of gorgeous things to deck out the party. Or you can find themes can work with these colours – pirates, spooky, racing, sport – to name a few.
Below are some decoration ideas from some great party supply websites, as well as some theme and decoration ideas.
I LOVE this idea from Pizzazzerie for a superhero party theme:
How about Shaun the Sheep! (link to original post from serendipitydooda.com not working, found on Pinterest)
A racetrack (found on Shindigz)
A wonderful idea found on Catch My Party for the soccer fans:
Or this spooky theme found on Sweet Designs:
So there you have it. Who knew that good old black and white could conjure up so many party theme ideas!
